Chicken Fried “Steak” Waffles

Vegan Chicken Fried Steak and Waffles

Makes about 4-5 servings

2 bags of Pepper + Sea Salt Jerky
1/2 to 1 Cup Grapeseed Oil for frying

Dry Coating:

1 Cup Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
1/3 Cup Cornmeal (If available if not scratch out)
2 tsp Corn Starch
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 Tbsp Parsley
1 Tbsp Paprika
1 Tbsp Salt or to taste

Wet Batter:

1/2 Cup Navy Bean Aquafaba
1 Tbsp Salt
1/2 Cup Flour
1/4 Cup Water


2 Cans of Navy Beans
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Tbsp Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Salt or to taste
1 de-seeded Jalapeno
1 Half Onion
2 Tbsp Corn Starch

Use your favorite vegan biscuit recipe! We used Minimalist Baker’s Biscuit Recipe because it’s our favorite!

Simply mix all dry coating ingredients together in a bowl and set aside. For the wet batter, whisk water, salt and aquafaba together until combined, then slowly add flour while stirring with your whisk to help cut down on any lumps.

Pour your grapeseed oil into your skillet and turn your burner to medium-high. When your oil is shimmering, test it by dropping a small amount of wet batter in it. If it immediately starts bubbling, you’re ready to fry! Then just take pieces of jerky and dip them in the wet batter, and then coat with the dry. Fry in the oil until golden brown, turning when needed.

To get your gravy ready, you’ll want to use a high-speed blender or food processor. Place all ingredients except for pepper in your blender and blend or process until smooth and creamy. Once this is done, place a pot or skillet on your stove and place temperature at medium-high and pour your gravy in. You’ll want to bring the gravy to a low simmer, being careful to stir often so that it will not burn. Once the gravy is thick enough to your liking, turn your burner off.

Hatch Chipotle Tacos

Makes up to 15 Tacos


1 1/2 Cups of Pre-Roasted Hatch Chili Peppers
2 Packages of Prickly Pear Chipotle Jerky
1/2 Cup Chopped Onions
1/2 Cup Fresh Corn
1/2 Cilantro
1 to 2 Tbsp of Grapeseed Oil (or cooking oil of choice)
1 tsp of Cumin
1 tsp of Paprika
1 tsp of Garlic Powder
Salt to taste

10 to 15 Corn or Flour Tortillas

Avocado and Pico De Gallo recommended for garnish.

Start with heating your cooking oil in a skillet at about medium to medium-high. When the oil is shimmering and ready, add the onions and sauté them until they begin to become translucent.

Add all of your spices and stir to coat the onions. Now you can add the jerky and hatch chilis, and allow them to cook together for about five to ten minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent anything from becoming too hot and sticking to the bottom of your pan.

Next, add your corn, and continue to sauté and stir the mixture until the corn is brighter in color and cooked through. Now you can turn your pan down to low, or even off depending on your stove and stir in the cilantro to wilt it down. Don’t overcook it! You still want it to be bright green. You can salt to taste here.

Once it’s done, simply take the mixture off the heat, and start building some amazing tacos, y’all! Warm or fire up your tortillas for best taco results.

We are approaching 90 days since we launched All Y’alls Foods and began introducing It’s Jerky Y’all to the masses, and things are getting busy! The past three months have flown by, and as for where you may now purchase It’s Jerky Y’all, retailers are selling online and on shelves in Ohio, all across Texas, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Colorado, New York, California, with many more to come.

We are just now going into our first Hotel in NYC known as the Ludlow. We will be offered as an option in their honor bars in about 180 rooms. The hotel looks amazing and for NYC is priced reasonably. Love the opportunity to support their efforts in offering an amazingly tasty and healthful jerky!

We are hoping to be able to announce a partnership with a leading retailer looking to make a name for themselves online along with their other online company that is well known. I will share that information when the time comes! We are in talks with dozens of distributors and retailers across the globe, and I am excited to learn what’s in store and sharing our status at six months

The cows need folks working in their best interest, and humans need a healthy way to enjoy an amazingly enjoyable jerky — that’s why we do this.

Cutting out the Middle-Critter


After becoming a puppy parent, my heart grew like the Grinch’s. Then I found out they still eat dogs in 11 countries and saw photos of dogs in crates much like those housing chickens here in the US. I was livid and ready to start causing harm to people who would do that. I soon thereafter noticed my dog’s hind legs were much like a pig’s and then learned about how pigs will behave like a dog if you raise them that way … and then I realized all sentient animals are aware — oh shit.

I could no longer consume meat without thinking of how the animal lived and died, and then a trip to the zoo brought about a clarity I had never had before, and that was I could no longer eat animals. This was almost three years ago, and over time I realized all I wanted to do was to give the cows in Texas a break.

One of my state’s largest contributions to America’s and the world’s stomachs is beef. Rather than just complain I decided to change how it is and so I am. After just over a years’ worth of learning and developing the marketing and flavors, we launched It’s Jerky Y’all into a $3 billion industry.

Welcome, All Y’alls Foods, a Texas plant-based snack foods company set about to change what makes the very best jerky with our premier product It’s Jerky Y’all! We take traditional animal-involved snacks and make them tastier and from plants, cutting out the middle-critter.

We released three flavors May 21st and have four more in the works with each flavor representing a region in Texas and as the prickly pear is our state plant we use it, as we do the chipotle and pecan smoke — the state tree.

Why Soy?

Doesn’t Soy promote Cancer?

I will not be speaking about GMO soy other than to say I would never promote its use. Study after study shows a reduction in Ovarian, Breast and Prostate Cancers by soy consumers. The notion that plant-based phytoestrogen can disrupt human based estrogen is not true. For thousands of years, Soy has been a staple in some of the countries with low cancer rates throughout Asia. If you pour over the studies and you can verify who paid for them, then you too might question intent.

Is Soy filled with Estrogen?

Soy contains no estrogen whatsoever, not a drop, but cow’s milk certainly does. In fact, most folk’s intake of cow’s milk contributes to 80% of their Estrogen intake! Soy milk has the same protein content as cow’s milk but 60% less saturated fat and triple the magnesium. Soy contains phytoestrogens which are plant hormones and may bring about lower rates of cancer by blocking the actual estrogen. Phytoestrogens are also found in things like carrots, apples, and even beer.

Known as a neurotoxin and air pollutant Hexane is used to strip soy of its oil and separate the protein creating protein isolates but the FDA does Not require any manufacturer who uses it to test for residue on the foodstuff it is used in.

The beans are grown under contract as a no-spray crop, so the soy is as clean as can be. It is then crushed and cooked and after much love, and attention is reborn as Jerky!

It’s Jerky Y’all: An Introduction

The mission of All Y’alls Foods is to offer more enjoyable plant-based snack food options that traditionally involved animals. Our story begins with my love of tasty jerky and closes with the delivery due date for our premier product It’s Jerky Y’all!

Growing up in Texas we almost always had jerky around keeping us company in a deer blind or on the water first thing in the morning. On Boy Scout camping trips in the Rockies while hiking or hanging around the campfire at night. My favorite has always been black pepper.

As I aged the clamp down and tear tough jerky no longer appealed to me while the hamburger style strips or greasy sticks were no more appealing. Eventually, I found a bit more tender jerky and enjoyed it until I decided a couple of years ago to never eat beef again. Having learned about our diets direct impact on our state of health including via my studies at IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), I wanted to support wellness for folks and the critters too by serving plant-based foods.

I opened Farmacy Fountain in 2013, which was a Raw-vegan, organic juice and smoothie bar in a classic 1930’s soda fountain. I also made a myriad of items in the dehydrator including my famous kale chips and macaroons. The Fountain was ahead of its time and is now a great memory and was a start.

At that same time I was introduced to several styles of plant-based jerky, and while I enjoyed many of them, I did not find one with the texture and flavor I wanted. Then I began making my own and after countless batches arrived at the first three flavors of It’s Jerky Y’all, while the next four are in the works.

After working with various plant options, I landed on the best one as it is made from whole soybeans, not just parts of them and it is also non-GMO. All Y’alls Foods is grateful to present the flavors of the Lone Star State in a way that helps to begin to redefine a Texas tradition-Jerky.
